The National Association of Nigeria Nurses And Midwives,Oyo State Chapter has inducted new members of Executives Council to direct the affairs of the Union in the state.
The state chairman, Com. Dr Adeyemi Samuel Oladele welcomed the Unit executives to the induction program, he congratulates them for being the best among their equals in the just concluded unit General Elections of NANNM in the state.
He enjoined participants to make use of the opportunity to learn key issues that will enhance their performance in their various Units.
The induction Program was preceded by a day special seminar aimed at building the capacity of the unit officers, and equip them for optimum performance for the task ahead.
Earlier,the program featured special lectures sessions,in which some keynote speakers treated salient topics for the benefits of the participants as follows:
Mrs Magret Akinsola traced the evolution of trade unionism and emergence of NANNM as a trade union, a professional body.
Similarly,a retired Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Fatai Oladehinde espoused the “civil service rules and regulations, collective bargaining/conflict resolution,a vital tool for building strong union leadership.
Furthermore,a retired Deputy General Secretary of the Union Mrs Florence Ekpebor x-rayed the effective NANNM unit leadership as an important tool for driving the Union development agenda.
The seminar afforded the participants an opportunity to be knowledgeable about the operation of the Union locally and nationally.
The participants were also reminded of their roles as unit officers at the helms of affairs of the union for a collective progress.
Finally, various structures of the organization,as well as the constitution of the union were clearly discussed in conformity with the expected policies on the part of the new set of leaders.
