NACJ felicitates Christians on Easter

…Urges them to imbibe values of Christ

The Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists, NACJ, Oyo State Chapter, has called on Christians in the state to imbibe the values of Jesus Christ.

A statement signed by the association’s Secretary, Com. Ikeoye Oyetoro on behalf of the acting Chairman, Com. ‘Lekan Sobowale and made available to journalists in Ibadan by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, Com. Adeola Badru, added that the selflessness exhibited by Jesus Christ when he laid down his life for mankind is worthy of emulation.

NACJ noted that Jesus Christ was an ideal example of how human beings should pattern their lives, stressing that Christ has shown to everyone what passion, perseverance and determination can achieve if they will mirror His life style.

The Christian journalists association, however, advised Christians and the good people of Oyo State to see this season of Easter as an opportunity to show love to one another, pray for the peace and prosperity of not only the state, but the country in general, noting that: “It is in the peace of Oyo State and Nigeria lies our collective well being.”

NACJ also encouraged all to be steadfast and courageous in seeking to contribute their quota to the development of the state and to eschew acts that could disrupt its unity and peace.

The association concluded by referring Christians to the teachings of Apostle Paul in the book of Philippians Chapter 4 verse 8, wherein Christians are advised to: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

It noted that that there is no better time to adhere to this advise than the season of Easter.
