Oyo NUJ lauds Tinubu’s appointment of Zacch

The Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing “a great ambassador for young, forward-looking” people and ex-Executive Secretary, National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), Mr Zacch Adedeji, as Special Adviser on Revenue.

A statement by Comrade Demola Babalola, chairman of the union, on Thursday described the appointment as putting a round peg in a round hole, saying Zacch, a thorough professional, had demonstrated capacity for service delivery, particularly in the area of public finance and revenue generation.

According to Babalola, as Oyo State Finance Commissioner, Zacch demonstrated “unusual creativity, astuteness and uncommon skills in public finance management.”

“A number of initiatives he introduced led to a boost in the revenue of the state, just as he also brought about some cost-saving reforms that helped the state.

“A precocious, young, brilliant and wise man, Zacch will prove to be an invaluable energy addition to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

“Through this, the president has fulfilled his promise to engage youths in his government and we are grateful he picked one of the best from Oyo State. We are confident Zacch will do us proud and serve the country diligently.

“At a time when government needs to shore up its revenue to be able to deliver the goods, no other person can be fitter for this position than Zacch,” Babalola said.
