lnternational World Peace Day: Rotary Clubs in Ibadanland Engages Stakeholders On How To Maintain Peace

As part of its activities to mark the year 2023 world peace day, powered by:Rotary Club of Ibadan, Ibadan City Central, Ibadan Oritamefa, Ibadan Prestige, Agodi Ibadan, Ibadan Jericho Metro, Ibadan Gold, Ibadan Challenge, Akobo Ibadan, Ibadan Ringroad, Ibadan Pathfinder, and Rotary Club of Ologuneru engaged stakeholders across the geo political zones of Oyo State on the need to sustain the peaceful coexistence enjoyed among all and sundry in the State.

Stakeholders that gathered at the House of Chiefs Parliament Building, Agodi Secretariat Ibadan for the year 2023 World Peace Day organized by twelve Rotary Clubs in ibadan.

While speaking with journalists on the theme of the event tagged “Action For Peace: Our Ambition For The Global Goals”, one of the rotary club presidents stressed on the importance of peaceful coexistence in any given society.

He said, “We put this together in recognizing of “World Peace Day” otherwise known as “International Peace Day”, this is a day that as been set aside by the United Nation for peace in the world, we organized this for the farmers and security personnel in Oyo state so that we can discuss the security system in Oyo state and how to sustain the peaceful coexistence we are enjoying currently.”

“At this gathering today we’ve been able to know the exact status of the security situation we have in the world and to the glory of God we are enjoying peaceful atmosphere across the nation,and this kind of gathering has granted us the opportunity to know how to sustain the peaceful atmosphere we have in our environments as we have been able to hear from Police, Amotekun and other organizations including our religion leaders.

“All the stakeholders here have spoken that there will always be peace in around us, the theme for this year is “ACTION FOR PEACE” that is our own ambition for global goals, global goals are sustainable development goals and which every nation and countries are working hard to achieve, so we appeal to everyone of us right from our homes to maintain peace, in our community, state and at national level we should maintain peace, as today is “world peace day”we wish everyone of us a peaceful atmosphere in our respectful communities, this program is put together by twelve Rotary Clubs in Ibadan with the aim to ensure that our people continue embracing peaceful coexistence among themselves and the takehome from this event is that we want everybody to maintain peace and it is only when there is peace that can be development, and this start by loving people around.” One of the Hope president said.

Also in his remarks, one of the past Assistant presidents of one of the twelve Clubs, said peace is very necessary in our life, na very essential in our society.

He further said, “As a community leader, family man and in every position we are, we must allow peace to reign, every individuals that is knowledgeable must look forward to be a rotary so that the society can be in peace.
