The movie star and filmmaker, who made history last month, as the first Nigerian filmmaker to gross over a billion at cinemas, hasn’t held back on her record-breaking achievement.
In a new update, A Tr!be Called Judah has grossed over N1.4 billion over the past few months. The movie has no doubt become the favorite of many both at home and abroad.
Sharing the good news, Film One, expressed gratitude to Nigerians and West Africans for making the movie Number One.

Just a few days back, Congratulations had poured in for Funke Akindele as her movie A Tr!be Called Judah made a record in the United Kingdom, grossing eighty thousand pounds (£80,000) in just four weeks of streaming.
Sharing the news online, Film One congratulated Funke Akindele for being a focused queen and also acknowledged her as a ‘big baller’.
It’s no surprise to many because her movie grossed over One Billion naira in the Nigeria box office within four weeks of its release, thereby setting a record for the Nigerian film industry.
Funke Akindele made a whooping one billion, sixty million, seven hundred and eleven thousand, four hundred and ninety-one.
Funke Akindele’s movies, A Tr!be Called Judah, Battle On Buka Street, and Omo Ghetto The Saga are respectively the highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time.
Following her groundbreaking achievement, the award-winning movie star was gifted a brand-new car at her event.
To celebrate her milestone achievement of grossing over a billion in Cinemas, an event was held to celebrate the queen which was tagged A Toast To Funke Akindele, and it hosted the likes of Iyabo Ojo, Eniola Ajao, Sola Sobowale, Bisola Aiyeola, Adunni Ade, Yvonne Jegede, Kehinde Bankole, Omowunmi Dada, the cast of A Tr!be Called Judah and more.
The highlight of the event was when the movie star was presented with a brand-new car courtesy of GAC Motor.
Funke Akindele previously held the title of the Highest Grossing movie with A Battle of Buka Street, which netted 640 million at the box office.
This made the mother of twins, the highest-grossing filmmaker in Nollywood, beating Mo Abudu, with the top two posts with her box office movies, Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto The Saga.
To add to it, Funke Akindele, as well as Mo Abudu, and Ayo Makun had topped the list of highest-grossing movie producers in Nigeria.
In a list compiled by Top Charts Africa, Mo Abudu, Funke Akindele, and Ayo Makun were said to have grossed over N1 billion in movies.
