Elevation: Senator Alli thanks Olubadan, pledges continued service to Ibadanland

Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed profound gratitude to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin on his elevation to Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland alongside five others.

This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan.

Senator Alli, who was among six prominent individuals elevated by the revered monarch, acknowledged the honour as a significant milestone in his life.

The lawmaker expressed appreciation to the Olubadan, saying the elevation further deepened his resolve to serve Ibadanland and its people diligently, while ensuring the rich cultural heritage of the city was preserved and promoted.

“I am deeply humbled by this recognition and elevation by our esteemed Olubadan. It is a call to greater responsibility, and I assure our people that I will continue to contribute positively to the progress and unity of Ibadanland,” Senator Alli said.

He congratulated other elevated Obas and chiefs, including Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, who moved from Otun Balogun to Balogun and Oba Kolawole Adegbola, who transitioned from Osi Balogun to Otun Balogun.

Others are Oba John Olubunmi Isioye Dada, who advanced from Ekerin Balogun to Osi Balogun, Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez, who moved from Ekarun Balogun to Ashipa Balogun, and Chief Akeem Bolaji Adewoyin, who ascended from Abese Balogun to Ekerin Balogun.

Senator Alli commended them for their contributions to the growth of Ibadanland, noting that their new positions come with increased responsibilities in the service of the community.

He reaffirmed commitment to the values and traditions of Ibadanland, pledging to work tirelessly to uphold the dignity of his new chieftaincy title while fostering unity and progress within the community.

The lawmaker also appreciated members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Mogajis, family members, political associates, friends and hosts of other well-wishers present at the ceremony.
