INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION MESSAGE BY THE CHAIRPERSON, AKINYELE LOCAL GOVERNMENT, MRS FUNMILOLA AKINLEYE*

Dear Wonderful Women of Akinyele Local Government,

Today, we join the world in celebrating International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the achievements, resilience, and strength of women across all walks of life. It is a time to honor the contributions of women in our homes, workplaces, and communities, as well as to reflect on the journey toward gender equality and empowerment.

Women are the heartbeat of every society. In Akinyele Local Government, we have seen firsthand how women play pivotal roles in family, business, education, politics, and development. Despite challenges, you continue to rise, breaking barriers and setting new standards of excellence.

As Chairperson, I am deeply committed to advocating for the empowerment of women and girls, ensuring they have access to education, financial independence, healthcare, and opportunities to succeed. When we invest in women, we uplift entire families and communities.

On this special day, I encourage every woman to embrace her strength, support one another, and continue striving for greatness. To our husbands, brothers, and sons, I urge you to stand with us in the fight for equality, because when women thrive, society flourishes.

Let us work together to build a brighter, fairer, and more prosperous future for all.

Happy International Women’s Day!
