Naira abuse: “It’s our culture to spray money” – Paulo Okoye tells EFCC

Nigerian music executive Paul Okoye, otherwise known as Paulo, has sent a message to the Economic Financial and Crime Commission over their constant arrest of celebrities over Naira abuse.

Taking to the comment section of Cubana Chief Priest, he questioned why the commission would constantly be arresting Nigerians over Naira abuse as he noted how it’s our culture.

“But why? Is not making sense. Is our culture for fck sake”.

This is coming days after businessman, E-Money was arrested by the commission for allegedly spraying United States dollars, an act said to be a violation of the Foreign Exchange Act.

Reacting to his arrest, Cubana Chief Priest showed support for him as he noted how he had been there and assured E-Money that he would be stronger, just like their Rolls Royce. He stated that he knew they would come for him becausie of his strength and were trying to break him to make him succumb to supporting them under duress.

Also, showing support for E-Money, Okon Lagos questioned what would be wrong if E-Money abused the dollar on Nigerian soil. He noted how the dollar abuses the Naira every day, as he urged the commission to prioritise incarcerating bad, and corrupt leaders who ruin the economy.

Last year, EFCC had arrested Cubana Chief Priest over Naira abuse. The commission filed a three-count charge against the businessman for allegedly spraying and tampering with the naira at a social event contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

Also, last year, EFCC arrested popular crossdresser, Bobrisky over abuse of the Naira which he pleaded guilty to, and had pleaded with the judge to give him another chance, promising to make good use of his platform to inform and educate his followers about spraying money. Unfortunately, the judge didn’t excuse his bad behavior and he was sentenced to jail for 6 months without an option of a fine.
