“We need structure” – Omotola Ekeinde shared as she compares working in Hollywood and Nollywood

Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is lamenting the industry’s condition as she compares it to Hollywood.

The legendary actress revealed that she has been working in Hollywood for 4 years now, has done 2 test projects, and gets monthly residuals. Meanwhile, in Nollywood, where she spent 30 years and did 310 projects, she got no residuals.

The mother of four stated that Nollywood needs structure.

Weeks back, Mary questioned the benefits of joining Nollywood guilds and associations. The wife of Iroko TV boss revealed that a budding filmmaker asked her about the benefits of joining the guilds, and she couldn’t give a clear answer.

Sometimes back, media personality, Daddy Freeze had tackled Nkem Owoh for commending the efforts of Nollywood practitioners in making our movies highly competitive with foreign movies. Freeze stated that his opinion was untrue as Nollywood is still way behind. Urging the veteran to tell the truth, he opined that Nkem Owoh’s thoughts are a representation of an idealized vacuum.

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo Kanayo had called out Nollywood filmmakers who run to the steaming giant platform YouTube for ruining the foundation of the movie industry by creating low-quality content.
