Governor Adeleke Travels to U.S. for Davido and Chioma’s Wedding Celebration

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has travelled to the United States to attend the wedding ceremony of his nephew and Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido

The high-profile wedding, set to take place in Miami, Florida, this August, is expected to attract notable personalities from across the globe. Governor Adeleke’s media aide, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the governor’s arrival in the U.S. in a statement released on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

“Governor Adeleke departed Nigeria for the United States a few days ago aboard the family’s private jet to attend the wedding of global music icon and beloved nephew, David Adeleke,” the statement read.

Rasheed noted that the governor extended an open invitation to members of the opposition to join in the joyous occasion, either physically or virtually.

The statement further clarified that Governor Adeleke, since assuming office in November 2022, has not taken an official vacation. It added that the current trip is brief, allowing the governor to continue monitoring key state matters.

“His Excellency remains in close communication with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is overseeing the day-to-day affairs of the state in his absence,” the spokesperson stated.
