Intra-African Trade Fair: Obasanjo Calls for Unity, Action, and Development.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on African leaders to move beyond rhetoric and take decisive steps towards achieving true continental integration and sustainable development.

Speaking at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) in Algeria, Obasanjo emphasized that Africa can only realize “The Africa We Want” through unity, strong political will, and concrete action.

Echoing his remarks, President of Afreximbank, Prof. Benedict Oramah, noted that Africa’s trade potential remains limited by barriers and restrictive policies. He urged governments to harmonize regulations and cut down on red tape in order to foster growth.

Discussions at IATF 2025 have continued to highlight the importance of policy alignment and trade facilitation, with stakeholders stressing that the continent must not only prepare to trade but also position itself to thrive in the global economy.
