DJ Cuppy Opens Up on the Joys of Single Life After Failed Engagement

Popular Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has shared some of the things she enjoys most about being single.

Taking to her Snapchat page, Cuppy revealed that one of her favourite parts of singlehood is enjoying quiet dinners alone — without the need for small talk.

“One of my fave things about being single? I can eat dinner alone and actually focus on the food. No small talk, just me and my plate, lol,” she wrote.

Since her broken engagement with British boxer Ryan Taylor, Cuppy has frequently shared glimpses into her love life and personal reflections.

Just last month, she recounted an encounter with a man who tried to flirt with her after a church service, and in another post, she humorously mentioned that while she receives plenty of direct messages from admirers, many can’t even spell “Pomeranian.”

Despite her playful posts, Cuppy has occasionally expressed her longing for companionship. On social media, she once admitted that seeing wedding photos online often reminds her to “remind God again.”

In July, while speaking with her mother and sisters, she revealed that though she isn’t in a relationship, she is open to meeting people — adding lightheartedly that she hopes “the best man wins.”

The singer and philanthropist has even joked about considering a change in preference, pondering whether she might marry an Indian man, and once took her search to LinkedIn, declaring she was looking for a finance professional — six feet tall with brown eyes.

Cuppy’s engagement to Ryan Taylor in November 2022 made headlines, as it came just a month after they met. However, their romance ended in 2023 for undisclosed reasons.
