Akinyele LG Cracks Down on Crime: Illegal Brothel Used as Criminal Hideout Uncovered and Sealed for Demolition

In a decisive move to strengthen grassroots security and safeguard lives and property, Akinyele Local Government has uncovered and sealed an illegal brothel being used as a criminal hideout within the council area. The operation, which underscores the administration’s zero tolerance for crime and criminality, took place at Akinyele axis of Ward 6, following credible intelligence and sustained security surveillance.

The enforcement exercise was personally led by the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, alongside members of the Local Government Security Council. Their presence on ground reflected the seriousness of the operation and the administration’s commitment to proactive leadership in confronting security threats head-on rather than reacting after damage has been done.

During the raid, the illegal brothel was discovered to be a hub for criminal activities, serving as a hideout and coordination point for suspected criminals. The brothel keepers and procurers operating the facility were arrested on the spot and handed over to relevant security agencies for proper investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law.

Following the sealing of the premises, the Local Government announced that the structure has been marked for demolition as part of measures to prevent a reoccurrence and send a strong warning to individuals or groups who may be harbouring criminal elements within residential communities. The action also aligns with ongoing efforts to sanitize the environment and restore peace to affected neighbourhoods.

Hon. Akinwole Akinleye reaffirmed the Local Government’s resolve to continue tightening the security architecture across all wards in Akinyele LG , thus replicating the good deeds of his Principal, Gov Seyi Makinde, urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information. He emphasized that under his leadership, Akinyele will not be a safe haven for crime, but a secure and peaceful community where law-abiding citizens can live, work, and thrive without fear.
