Comedian’s ex-wife slams bloggers, urges them to keep her children out of “fabricated” reports

Elsie Okpocha, former wife of Nigerian comedian Basketmouth, has debunked viral claims suggesting that their marriage ended over alleged paternity fraud.

Speculation circulating online alleged that the comedian was not the biological father of Elsie’s children, a claim that has sparked widespread reactions on social media.

Responding via her Instagram story, Elsie questioned the origin of the report, asking whether Basketmouth himself was aware of the statement attributed to him. She accused Facebook bloggers of spreading falsehoods and fabricating stories.

She wrote, “All you Facebook bloggers fabricating lies. Is Basketmouth aware he made that statement?? You can make up unimaginable stories about me, but please leave my kids out of this nonsense!”

Basketmouth had announced the end of their over-a-decade-long marriage in 2023 through an Instagram post, noting that both parties would continue to co-parent their children amicably while requesting privacy.

Subsequent reports in 2024 linked the comedian romantically to a media personality identified as Victoria, who was alleged to have been involved prior to the separation.

The former couple has also had public disagreements since their split. In 2025, Elsie accused Basketmouth of attempting to influence their teenage son against her, criticizing him for instructing the boy not to share his password with his mother.

Since the divorce, Elsie has remained vocal on social media, often sharing messages of encouragement to women dealing with heartbreak and failed relationships. She has also previously alluded to infidelity as a factor in the breakdown of her marriage, noting that even women with admirable qualities can still face betrayal.

In her recent posts, she continues to advocate resilience, encouraging women going through separations to remain hopeful and embrace happiness despite challenges
