The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the mugshot of former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, following his arrest over a N22 billion fraud case linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
The anti-graft agency confirmed that Mamman was arrested in the early hours of Monday, May 19, after he was convicted and sentenced to 75 years imprisonment on corruption-related charges.
Speaking during a press conference, EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, disclosed that the former minister was apprehended around 3:30 a.m. in Kaduna and is currently in the custody of the commission.
The arrest followed an order issued by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, directing security agencies to arrest Mamman wherever he was found after his conviction.
Justice Omotosho had last week convicted the former minister on a 12-count charge bordering on money laundering and diversion of public funds amounting to about N22 billion.
