Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has directed the police to launch an immediate investigation into the reported kidnapping of several individuals at the Vegetable Market along Airport Road in Benin City.
The governor instructed the Commissioner of Police to swiftly probe the incident, secure the release of the victims, and ensure that those behind the crime are apprehended and prosecuted.
Condemning the incident, Okpebholo described the alleged abduction as unacceptable and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across the state. He assured residents that efforts would continue until the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The governor also called on residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies.
