Court sentenced mother of three to 3months imprisonment for conspiracy and forgery

Chief Magistrate B.A gbadamosi has sentenced a 39 year-old morili oluwatoyin Balogun to 3 months imprisonment for operating with fake license of the Nursing and midwifery of Nigeria, prosecution against a mother of three which started in 2018 terminated today 21st September 2022 by justice B.A Gbadamosi. The convict was arranged on two counts charge of conspiracy and forgery after her arrest at a private hospital in the ONA ARA area of Oyo state in 2018. Chief magistrate Gbademosi in a judgement which lasted for over an hour says the defendant Morili Oluwatoyin Balogun was guilty of Conspiracy and forgery which is punishable under the law, she added that all documents before the court especially the licence doesn’t tally with the NMCN. before her judgement, counsel to defendant Barrister Olayinka urge the court to tamper Justice with mercy adding that his client had no criminal records before now.

The chief magistrate, therefore, pronounced her guilty on count one which was pronounced as conspiracy and the defendant was sentenced to six months imprisonment with an option of a 30,000 fine while on the other count she was sentenced to three months with hard labour and without any option of fine.

The State Chairman, Com Dr Samuel Adeyemi and the State Secretary, Com Ofere Oluwatoyin express joy at the judgement delivered by Chief Magistrate B A Gbadmosi. As this will serve as a deterrent to others with similar characters parading themselves as Nurses, maiming and killing innocent citizens. The Chairman reiterated that the Association will not relent in its effort to ensure that our citizens receive quality health care services from professional Nurses.

The Director of Nursing Services Mr Taiwo Ajiboye equally commended the judgement. According to him, it was victory at last for the Nursing profession and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria in their efforts to eradicate quackery from the Nursing profession in Our Country Nigeria
