2023 general election will be held. Political parties and their allies are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the electorates cast their votes for them at the polls.
In Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo state, one of its strongholds is Ward 8 (Ojoo/Ajibode/Laniba) with 92 polling units that house the Orogun political zone.
The APC Orogun family led by Hon. Olumide Alli, a former local government chairman made a strong statement in the area as the APC party leaders, stakeholders, and party faithful showed solidarity support to all the party flag bearers vying for elective positions.
Amid fanfare, the Governorship and Deputy Governorship candidates were welcomed into the Yinbol playground, the venue of the event. Other candidates present are Dr Yunus Akintunde, Oyo Central Senatorial candidate of the APC, Hon. Leke Apapa and Hon. Kunle Kareem both of Akinyele state constituency 2 and 1 respectively.
Presents at the event were various associations such which include Welders, Hairdressers, Tailors, Cobblers, Block Makers, Pepper Sellers, Arewa Community, Okada and Maruwa Riders amongst other artisans. Others are the NUT and other professional bodies.
The candidates of the party took turns to reel out their plans for the artisans and electorates.
In his remark, Senator Teslim Folarin, the governorship candidate of the APC emphasized that “the APC belongs to the Yorubas and we must ensure we enthrone our own at the centre for us to enjoy the dividends of democracy” he said.
Traditional rulers and Baales in the community were not left out as their grievances against the current administration in the state were well noted for improvement in the coming administration. It is worthy of note that Cash and other donations were made awesomely to communities in the environment.
