Accord candidate pledges unprecedented dividends as party inaugurates campaign council in Ibarapa

Mr Segun Okanlawon, the House of Representatives candidate of the Accord party for Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency, says his constituents will enjoy unprecedented dividends of democracy, if elected.

Okanlawon told newsmen on Friday that he was committed to quality representation and empowerment of his constituents.

It would be recalled that Accord party had on Thursday inaugurated a 33-member campaign council for Ibarapa Central.

The committee has Mr Sunday Babarinde as the General Overseer; Alhaji Habib Ibrahim as Chairman; Mr Yunusa Oguntowo, Deputy Chairman; Alhaji Najeem Azeez, Director-General and Mr Surajudeen Adegbite as the Secretary.

Okanlawon assured the people of unprecedented dividends of democracy, urging them to consider the party’s antecedents in terms of contributions to societal and human capital development.

“Our people have seen the deception of election cycle politicians who remember their existence only when they want to seek their votes.

“But, become inaccessible after the elections and do nothing about the plights of the people,” the candidate said.

He said that the party was people-centric, explaining the party’s readiness to pursue all-inclusive governance and touching the lives of his constituents positively.

According to him, we will champion people’s livelihoods and welfare in the towns, as well as in the settlements.

“Our farmers deserve good lives. We will do our best to help them to enjoy the dividends of democracy and good governance,” he said.

Commenting, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the campaign council, said that Accord was the party to beat across the state, considering its people-oriented manifesto.

Ibrahim decried the deplorable state of infrastructure across the state, adding that only Accord party paraded innovative, competent, experienced and God-fearing candidates.

He urged the constituents, as well as people of the state, to vote en masse for Accord candidates in the general elections, assuring them of a rewarding future.

Adegbite, Secretary of the council, said that people have confidence in Accord as the only party that could rescue them from underdevelopment.

He urged them to vote for competence, integrity and antecedents.

“Vote enmasse for Accord candidates in the general elections, as we will deliver unprecedented dividends of democracy as promised,” Adegbite said.

The new council had announced the constitution of a 50-member campaign committee at the ward level and to be headed by the Ward Chairman; while it appointed five canvassers per polling unit, one of whom must be a party agent.
