Entertainment:Beyonce, Wizkid, Tems win NAACP awards

American singer, Beyonce Carter and Nigerian superstars, Tems and Wizkid, have been announced as winners in the 2023 National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People Awards.

Beyonce won three categories which includes Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Soul/R&b song for ‘Cuff It’ and Outstanding Album for ‘Renaissance’.

While Tems’ ‘No Woman No Cry’ cover for Black Panther won the Outstanding International Song category.

Also Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid’s feature on Chris Brown’s ‘Call Me Everyday’ won the Outstanding Collaboration (Contemporary) category.

Other winners include Rihanna, who won in the category for Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album for Lift Me Up.

The winners were announced on the first night of the show on Monday night. The NAACP award celebrates black entertainers.
