I’m thankful to D’Banj, Mo’ Hits for housing me during my upcoming days – Wizkid

Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, well known as Wizkid, has revealed that he grew up around legendary singer, D’Banj and defunct Mo’ Hits Records.

The Ojuelegba crooner expressed thanks to them for treating him like family when he was living with them during his up-and-coming days.

Big Wiz recounted during an interview that he was with them often and even while living with the entire Mo’ Hits crew they never really noticed him in the house.

He sent a shoutout to the founding former members; Wande Coal, Dr Sid, D’Prince, D’Banj, and the music label owner, Don Jazzy, who have all gone their separate ways.

The music star also acknowledged their contribution to the growth of African music and noted that it was a big deal at the time and still is.

Wizkid said; “I grew up around D’Banj a lot, you know like Mo’ Hits, that era. I was in the house they didn’t even know I was in the house. I was even living with them, they didn’t even know I was living with them. That was how craazy it was, cos we were just family.

“So big shoutout to D’Banj, yeah Mo’Hits, Wande Coal, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, Prince, God bless you guys, that was big, that was a strong team that did a lot for African music.”
