A group in the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council, “DEMBAB VOLUNTEERS” has urged Muslim members of the Union to use the Ramadan period to pray and work towards continuous development of the union.
The group championing the good works of the Ademola Babalola-led administration in a statement by its convener, Lekan Shobo Shobowale said this in a message to felicitate the Muslim members on the commencement of the month-long fasting – Ramadan.
According to the statement Ramadan is a period during which God accepts prayers and also a time for spiritual reflection and rebirth, sacrifice and kindness, as well as increased devotion and worship.
He said the commencement of Ramadan provided a unique opportunity for Muslims to support the good initiatives and programmes of the current administration in the Oyo NUJ with fervent prayers to Allah for more mercy on its Chairman, Ademola Babalola, members of its executives and all members of the union in Oyo state.
Ramadan, the statement said, is a period to display more kindness to fellow humans no matter their religion, race or gender.
The group commended members of the union for the harmonious relationship saying that the peaceful atmosphere had brought about significant development as all can see in the Oyo NUJ.
The “DEMBAB Volunteers implored leaders across chapels in the state council to continue to mobilise their respective members in their chapels to engender good working relationship and peaceful atmosphere.
It said through the prayers and collaborations of members, many laudable feats had been achieved by Ademola Babalola-led administration and this solid foundation must be sustained for further growth and development in the Union.
The Group wishes all Muslim members a prayerful and rewarding Ramadan Period.
