38-year-old Yobe lecturer and his wife die two days apart.

A 38-year-old Nigerian man, Dr. Barde Luka Yelwa, and his wife Godiya have passed away two days apart.

Dr. Barde, a lecturer in the Biology Department at Umar Suleiman College of Education Gashua, Yobe State, died on Thursday, April 20, 2023, after suffering a heart attack in the hospital where he was taking care of his sick wife.

Two days after his death, on Saturday, April 22, his wife also passed away. The couple left behind two children, a 5-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old boy.

They will be laid to rest on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Dagare Village, 10 km along Bauchi-Jos Road.

Meanwhile, friends, family members, and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the couple.

“We spoke just a few days ago after your Ph.D. accomplishment not knowing that it would be the last moment I would ever hear from you again,” One comrade Joeman Joseph wrote on Facebook.
