Nigeria Now Has Idi Amin As President” – Kenneth Okonkwo Slams Tinubu Over Removal Of ‘All Eyes On Judiciary’ Billboard

Nollywood actor and lawyer, Kenneth Okonkwo has lambasted President Bola Tinubu.

This comes after the government ordered the removal of the ‘All eyes on the judiciary’ billboard.

Recall that top officials of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCO) were suspended and their units disbanded following the “All eyes on the judiciary” billboards which surfaced in Abuja and a few other states.

The board stated that the director and deputy director of the Advertising Standards Panel of the council were suspended to enable unprejudiced investigation of the issue.

The director general, Olalekan Fadolapo said that the officials failed to diligently exercise their gatekeeping function.

“The “All eyes on the judiciary” billboards have been trending on social media for some days, as the date of judgement in the presidential election petitions draws close.

“The attention of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has been drawn to the “All Eyes on the Judiciary” advertisements exposed on some billboards across the country,” the statement reads.

Reacting to the situation via Twitter, Okonkwo stated that the sanctions on the members of the advertising panel shows there is no freedom of speech in Nigeria.

He wrote: “The removal of “all eyes on judiciary” billboards and sanctioning of members of the Advertising Panel show that in Nigeria today, there’s no freedom after speech. Nigeria now has an Idi Amin as President. O’God, please give us a democrat as President. Indeed all eyes on judiciary.”
