…FELICITATES CHRISTIAN JOURNALISTS ON NEW YEAR

The Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Christian Journalists, (NACJ), Oyo State Chapter, Com. ‘Lekan Shobowale, has called on the Nigerian government to tackle the country’s socio-economic problems with renewed vigour.

In a new year message issued on his behalf by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the association, Com. Adeola Badru, Shobowale urged the government to take decisive action to address the pressing issues of insecurity, unemployment, and economic stagnation.

“We call on the government to take all necessary measures to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, and to boost the country’s economy,” he said.

Com. Shobowale further called on the government to address the security challenges facing the country, particularly in the North-East and South-West regions.

“We call on the government to do all it can to restore peace and security in these regions, and to provide adequate support for the displaced persons and victims of violence.”

“We also urge the government to ensure that the rights of religious minorities are protected, and to take steps to promote religious harmony and coexistence in our country.”

The NACJ Chairman also used the opportunity to call on all Nigerians to play their part in making the country a better.

He, however, urged Nigerians to promote patriotism, unity, and love for one another, saying: “As we begin a new year, let us remember that we are all Nigerians, and that our unity is our greatest strength.”

“Let us resolve to put aside our differences and work together for a better Nigeria.”

The NACJ Chairman also called on religious and traditional leaders to play their role in promoting peace and reconciliation.

“They should use their platforms to preach peace, love, and understanding. We all have a role to play in making our country a better place for ourselves.”

Com. Shobowale, equally, urged the media to play its part in promoting peace and unity in the country.

“The media has a crucial role to play in shaping public opinion and influencing social behavior. “We must ensure that our reporting is fair, balanced, and objective, and that we do not incite hatred or violence.”

He, then, expressed his hope that 2024 would be a year of progress and prosperity for Nigeria and its people.

“We may face challenges, but we will overcome them through hard work, determination, and unity.”

“In closing, I would like to reiterate my best wishes for a Happy New Year to all. May 2024 bring us all peace, progress, and prosperity.”

“May we work together to make our country a better place for all, and may we always remember that we are stronger together than apart. Happy New Year, and God bless Nigeria!”
