NIQS Oyo Chapter Inaugurates Fasilat Abbas as Chairperson.

The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) has inaugurated QS Adetayo Fasilat Abbas as its new chairperson for the 2026–2028 tenure. Her emergence makes her the chapter’s second female chairperson.

During the ceremony, Abbas pledged to discharge her duties with integrity, uphold the Institute’s constitution and professional ethics, and promote unity among members.

The Institute’s leadership congratulated the new chairperson and commended the outgoing chairman, QS Kolawole Oluwade, and his executive team for their dedication and service to the chapter.

The Oyo chapter was also praised for its contributions to the profession, including producing distinguished national leaders and supporting the training of future quantity surveyors. The recent commencement of a quantity surveying programme at the University of Ibadan was described as a significant milestone.

The Institute urged members to participate actively in professional development and chapter activities. It also called on the Oyo chapter to mobilise at least 100 delegates for the Institute’s Annual General Meeting scheduled to hold in Ilorin, Kwara State, from November 17 to 20, 2026.
