Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi has defended late singer, Mohbad’s father’s right to demand a DNA test for his grandson.
In an interview with TVC News, he stressed that Mohbad’s family has the right to ask for DNA as he noted how his father is carrying the burden of pain and wants closure.
Yomi Fabiyi noted how Mohbad’s widowed wife can’t say no if the court gives a verdict for her to do it. He added that everybody is a suspect in the ongoing case.
“Mohbad’s family has the right to ask for a DNA. His dad is carrying the burden of pain. He wants closure. The wife can’t say no if the court gives a verdict for her to do it. Everybody is a suspect in this case”.

Recall that following the singer’s death, many have been clamoring for a DNA test to be done on Liam, his son to ascertain his paternity. Even Mohbad’s father had called for DNA to be done on his son, a statement which Cynthia Morgan agreed with.
Omawunmi had told her father-in-law to get a court order for a DNA test to be done, surprisingly she made a U-turn during the weekend, as she made it known that she wouldn’t be doing a DNA test for her son. Giving reasons, Omowunmi made it that no one has the right to tell her to do it as she added that her son would never fall victim like his dad.
Reacting to it, actress, Sarah Martins slammed Omowunmi, calling her a senseless widow, as she questioned why the mother of one was scared of doing DNA and pondered if she doesn’t want to clear her name and protect the legacy of her husband.
Similarly, actress, Charity Nnaji addressed Nigerian men telling them that their wives are suspects if they support Mohbad’s wife. She questioned why Mohbad’s wife would love to go through that kind of pressure, without wanting to clear her conscience and free herself from public disgrace.
However, actress, Ifemeludike showed support for Wunmi, advising her not to be intimidated and to speak up and stand her ground. Ifemeludike told her not to do DNA tests for anybody and to raise her son.
Big Brother Naija’s former housemate, Tolanibaj advises Omowunmi that if the DNA test proves that Liam is the son of Mohbad, then the mother of one should sue everybody questioning her son’s paternity.
