Otti Visits Families Of Slain Soldiers, Offers Scholarships To Their Children

Governor Otti met with the young widows of the soldiers who died in active service at 144 Battalion Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area on Saturday.

The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has paid a condolence visit to the wives of the five soldiers who were killed in Obikabia, Obingwa Local Government Area, on Thursday, by gunmen.

The deceased military officers were Sgt.Chalse Ugochkwu, Sgt Bala Abrabam, CPl Ugwu Gideon , LCPL Ikpeama Ikechukwu , LCPL Augustine Emanuel .

Governor Otti met with the young widows of the soldiers who died in active service at 144 Battalion Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area on Saturday.

He was received on arrival by the Commander of 14 Brigade Ohafia, Nigeria Army, Brigadier General O. O. Diya.

Speaking during the condolence visit which had the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emeruwa, and Senator Darlington Nwokocha, the governor assured families and wives of the deceased that the killers will be fished out to face the law.

Governor Otti says the state government will provide scholarships up to the university level for all the children of the Nigerian Army personnel killed.

Earlier, the Commander of 14 Brigade Ohafia, Nigeria Army, Brigadier General O. O. Diya said the military in collaboration with other security agencies will continue to work together to bring perpetrators to book.
