Nigerian Govs Hold Closed-Door Meeting.

Governors from the 36 states of the federation are currently convening in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, they are meeting at the NGF secretariat in the FCT.

Some of the governors have already started to arrive at the meeting venue.

Those already present at the venue are Governors Lawal Dauda (Zamfara), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), and Alex Otti (Abia).

This is as the governors of Enugu, Peter Mbah and Borno States, Babagana Zulum, sent their deputies to represent them.

The agenda of the meeting is currently not made public.

However the governors at the last meeting had promised to give Nigerian workers a fair minimum wage, and this is the first public meeting of the forum since President Bola Tinubu approved a N70,000 minimum wage.

As a forum, the governors are also likely to comment on the raging debate about the planned nationwide protest against bad governance as well as the recent Supreme Court judgement on local government autonomy.
