Wale Ojo-Lanre Lauds NBA, Congratulates Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, on Appointment as Chairman, NBA Mentoring Committee

Renowned legal practitioner and Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ondo State, on his well-deserved appointment as Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Mentoring Committee.

Describing the appointment as apt, fitting, and well-deserved, Ojo-Lanre highlighted Dr. Ajulo’s longstanding dedication to mentoring aspiring lawyers, a commitment he had passionately pursued long before this official recognition by the NBA.

“His appointment is a testament to his unwavering dedication to legal mentorship. I am not only a witness to his generosity but also a beneficiary of his pushful and inspiring nature. Long before he became the Attorney General, Dr. Ajulo had taken it upon himself to support and encourage countless young individuals striving to become lawyers.”

Recalling personal experiences of Dr. Ajulo’s mentorship, Ojo-Lanre said:

“I vividly remember his visits to some of us at the Nigerian Law School, where he provided both moral and financial support. One experience that remains unforgettable was when some of us failed the Bar Final Exam on our first attempt. Dr. Ajulo invited us to his office in Abuja, lifted our spirits, and rekindled our hopes. Thank God, we all passed our repeat exams, albeit with ordinary passes, but as he wisely put it, ‘We are better off and more cooked.’”

He also recounted another remarkable act of kindness:

“When we were about to be called to the Bar, Dr. Ajulo instructed me and several others to visit the Federal High Court, Abuja, to collect a complete set of lawyers’ gowns from a legal accessories merchant named Alex. When I arrived, I met at least ten other aspiring lawyers who were also benefiting from this incredible gesture. He was the first among four eminent Nigerians who gifted me the lawyer’s robe.”

Ojo-Lanre commended the NBA for recognizing a man who truly fits the role, emphasizing that Dr. Ajulo’s deep passion for mentorship is unmatched.

“The NBA has made an excellent choice by appointing a man who has been mentoring in action long before title and recognition came. I have no doubt that under his leadership, the NBA Mentoring Committee will achieve great milestones and further strengthen mentorship within the legal profession.”

He concluded by expressing confidence that Dr. Ajulo, a true mentor and benefactor, will continue to inspire the next generation of lawyers, ensuring that young legal minds receive the necessary guidance to excel in the profession.
