Senator Alli congratulates Folarin on elevation as Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadanland

Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli (APC- Oyo South) and Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland, has congratulated former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, on his elevation as the Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan.

Senator Alli described the honour as a remarkable recognition of Folarin’s outstanding contributions to the socio-political and cultural development of Ibadanland.

Alli commended and congratulated the Olubadan, Oba Ladoja, on the elevation ceremony in line with the Olubadan ascendancy system, describing it as a great dedication to the growth of the ancient city.

He said that the elevation came at a time when Ibadanland was experiencing renewed unity and progress under the revered stool.

The senator said that Folarin’s elevation as Agbaakin was well-deserved, given his decades-long experience in public service as a three-term senator and former Senate Leader.

He added that Folarin has consistently demonstrated unwavering passion for the upliftment of Ibadanland and its people, both in and out of political office.

Alli expressed confidence that Senator Folarin would bring his wealth of experience, networks and influence to bear in supporting the Olubadan-in-Council toward strengthening the traditions, peace and development of Ibadanland.

He affirmed that the new Agbaakin has always shown a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the collective good of the ancient city.

He further prayed for the success of Senator Folarin in his new role, saying the Agbaakin title comes with enormous responsibilities that require wisdom, courage and selflessness.

Alli wished him divine guidance as he joined other prominent Ibadan chiefs in advancing the interest of the land.

Senator Alli congratulated Senator Folarin, describing his elevation as a proud moment for Ibadanland and a boost to its traditional institution.

He urged him to continue upholding the values of honour and service, assuring that the people of Ibadanland would benefit greatly from his experience and dedication
