Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons following their abduction in Oyo State.
The victims, identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old sons, Peter and Paul, were freed during a coordinated rescue operation that also led to the killing of two suspected kidnappers.
Police sources disclosed that the victims were abducted at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school.
According to security sources, intelligence-led investigations and sustained tactical operations enabled police operatives to track the kidnappers and mount pressure on the criminal gang.
The operation eventually resulted in a gun battle between the suspects and security personnel, during which two members of the gang were neutralised.
Two firearms were also recovered from the suspects during the encounter.
Authorities said the rescue mission was successful, with all three victims freed unharmed.
Police officials attributed the breakthrough to effective intelligence gathering and the determination of operatives involved in the operation.
Further investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who may still be at large.
