Osun 2026: Tribunal Pastes Petitions from APC’s Oyebamiji, PDP’s Adedamola Against Adeleke.

The Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has officially commenced its legal proceedings following the public display of two separate petitions filed by the All_Progressives_Congress (APC) and the Peoples_Democratic_Party (PDP) .

The petitions, which formally challenge the declaration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the Saturday, August 15, 2026, governorship election, were pasted on the notice board of the tribunal’s secretariat in Osogbo on Monday, September 7, 2026.

The Secretary of the Tribunal, Pefe Belemore, confirmed the development, noting that the secretariat has fully processed the filings and made the necessary statutory notices available before noon on Monday. Tribunal officials were seen at the court premises earlier in the day finalizing logistics for the upcoming pre-hearing sessions.

The legal filings reveal a multi-party dispute over the election outcome
The APC Petition (EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026): Filed by the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, joining Governor Adeleke, the Accord Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as respondents .

The PDP Petition (EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026): Filed by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola, challenging Governor Adeleke’s return alongside INEC and the Accord Party .
With the notices now public, the respondents are expected to file their replies within the statutorily mandated timeframe before the tribunal fixes a date for formal hearings.
