Breaking News:Alleged Misappropriation: EFCC Nabs Ado Poly Rector

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Dayo Hephzibah Oladebeye over an allegation of misappropriation of funds.

Officers of the anti-fraud agency of the government of the federation were reportedly sighted on the campus of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, 26th October 2022.

Our impeccable sources who craved anonymity for security reasons hinted that some members of Staff of the Polytechnic had earlier been invited to the Ilorin, Kwara State Office of the anti-graft agency over an allegation of funds misappropriation reportedly leveled against the Management of the Institution.

Further investigations however revealed that the Management of the Institution was said to have misled the federal government by conniving with the Salaries and Wages Commission, an agency responsible and accountable for payment of federal government workers’ salaries, wages and arrears, to pay undue promotion arrears to selected members of Staff of the Institution.

It was further disclosed that the paid arrears were refunded by the concerned Staff to the purse of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti after series of threat circulars to stop their salaries upon failure to remit same as directed by the Management of the Polytechnic.

Information has it that the three industrial unions, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), the Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti chapter were accomplices in the charade perpetrated by the Management of the Institution.

All efforts made to reach out to the Rector, Engr Dr. Oladebeye proved abortive as his cell phone contact was not available.
