Reality TV star and singer, Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has issued a public apology to popular nightlife promoter, Cubana Chief Priest (Pascal Okechukwu), after a controversial TikTok video involving Chief Priest’s alleged Kenyan baby mama, Hellen Atti, went viral.
The controversy began when Whitemoney unknowingly joined a TikTok live challenge where he was randomly paired with Hellen. During the session, she made comments that quickly drew attention online. Instead of ending the game, Whitemoney kept it lighthearted, turning it into a playful contest and later playing music to ease the atmosphere.
Clips from the session, however, spread across social media, with many interpreting his actions as a slight to Cubana Chief Priest.
In response, Whitemoney clarified that he never intended any form of disrespect. He expressed deep admiration for Cubana Chief Priest, acknowledging the role he played in supporting his career, especially during his Big Brother Naija campaign.
“I told my people, let’s beat her on behalf of Pascal. And yes, we actually beat her and won. I’m truly sorry, big brother. I would never do anything to disrespect CP because he is one of the people who made me who I am today. I remain grateful, he said.
He also revealed that the video had been deleted from his page, urging the public not to misinterpret his actions.
The incident has since sparked debate on social media about the limits of online content creation, celebrity loyalty, and how quickly viral clips can be taken out of context in Nigeria’s entertainment
