Eid-el-Fitri: Senator Alli urges unity, compassion among Nigerians

Senator (Dr.) Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithfuls in Nigeria on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, urging them to sustain the virtues of sacrifice, discipline and compassion imbibed during the holy month.

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan.

Senator Alli described Eid-el-Fitri as a significant spiritual milestone that symbolises renewal, gratitude and unwavering faith in Almighty Allah.

Ths lawmaker said that the period offered opportunity for deep reflection and commitment to righteous living.

He called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations, to embrace peaceful coexistence, stressing that unity remained the bedrock for national development and progress.

Senator Alli said that the lessons of Ramadan should translate into acts of kindness, tolerance and mutual respect in everyday life.

The lawmaker urged Muslim faithful to continue to support the less privileged, noting that charity and generousity should not end with Ramadan.

According to him, extending a helping hand to those in need would help bridge societal gaps and foster harmony.

He used the occasion to call for sustained prayers for peace, stability and prosperity of Nigeria, emphasising the need for collective efforts in addressing the nation’s challenges.

Senator Alli, who urged citizens to remain hopeful and resilient, reaffirmed his commitment to delivering quality representation to the people of Oyo South Senatorial District.

The lawmaker promised to continue championing policies and initiatives that would improve the welfare of his constituents.

He commended religious leaders for their roles in promoting moral values and guiding adherents on the path of righteousness, urging them to continue to preach messages that foster unity and national cohesion.

Senator Alli wished all Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitri celebration, praying that the blessings of the season bring lasting peace, happiness and prosperity to every home in Oyo State and Nigeria.
