In a firm yet inspiring address, the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Akinwole, has called on newly inducted staff members to demonstrate unwavering focus, commitment, and professionalism in their duties, urging them to rise above political affiliations and embrace the path of true civil service.

Speaking at the induction ceremony held today at the Local Government Secretariat Moniya Ibadan, Hon. Akinwole welcomed the newly appointed staff into the workforce with a charge to see their appointments not as political rewards but as a call to genuine service and impact.

“This is a moment of pride, not just for you as individuals, but for the entire Local Government. Your appointment is not an end in itself, it is the beginning of a meaningful journey in public service,” the Chairman remarked.

He urged the inductees to shelve political sentiments and align themselves with the core values of the civil service, emphasizing that professionalism and loyalty to duty must override personal or political affiliations. “Politics has its place, but the civil service must stand on the pillars of neutrality, competence, and dedication,” he noted.

Hon. Akinwole further encouraged the new staff to be worthy ambassadors of the Local Government, stating that their conduct, work ethic, and attitude would reflect not only on them but on the entire institution. “You carry the name and image of this Local Government wherever you go. Be intentional about excellence, be deliberate about discipline, and above all, be proud of the privilege to serve,” he said.

While highlighting the expectations ahead, he also extended sincere appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his exemplary leadership and unwavering support for grassroots development. “The success of today’s ceremony is a testament to the Governor’s vision for a more efficient and people-driven public service,” Hon. Akinwole added.

The Chairman concluded with a strong note of encouragement, calling on the newly inducted staff to stay determined, learn continuously, and become catalysts for change within the system.

With this timely charge, the Local Government sets a tone of discipline and renewed commitment, ushering in a new generation of public servants poised to serve with integrity and purpose.
