Charly Boy Fires Northern Youths Over Burning Of Davido’s Poster

Music entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has reacted to a video of enraged Northern youths burning a poster of Afrobeats superstar, Davido.

News report that Davido had shared a music video of his new signee Logos Olori on Twitter.

The controversial video showed some people dressed in white clothes, praying the way the Muslims do before launching into dancing as they recited some Quranic verses and prayed.

The contents of the video gained so much traction, with Muslims, especially in the northern part of the country, accusing the singer of disrespecting Islamic beliefs and practices.

Following the controversy, the music star bowed to pressure and deleted the video, but failed to tender an apology for his action.

Angry with the lack of apology, a group of youths took to the street to burn a poster embossed with the face of the DMW boss.

A post shared by Arewa influencer, Sarki_Sultan on Twitter, captured the moment a group of youths were seen burning the singer’s poster.

The Influencer further nudged the singer to ‘end this’ by he’s saying ‘I am sorry.’

Reacting to the video, via Twitter, Charly Boy wrote, “Abegi, make we hear word.

“Una dey burn Davido picture, una life don better?

“Abi Na Davido dey increase poverty for north?

“Una Allah wey dey do local runs for northern Nigeria never travel go Dubai see as correct Muslims dey live?

“Abegi, if e pain una reach, go to court.
