A bizarre incident happened on August 29, 2024, at the premises of Dutse Divisional Police Headquarters, Jigawa State, when a 32-year-man, identified as Bashir Umar, lured an eight-year-old girl into a restroom, where he tortured and sexually assaulted her.

The spokesman of the Jigawa Police Command, DSP Lawan Adam, who confirmed the incident via a statement on Sunday morning, disclosed that Umar is from Galamawa town, Dutse Local Government Area of the state.
