Cubana Chiefpriest Agrees to Public DNA Test Amid Paternity Dispute

Nigerian socialite and businessman, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has expressed his readiness to undergo a DNA test to resolve the long-running paternity dispute involving a Kenyan woman, Hellen Ati.

Chiefpriest made the statement in comments posted on a media outlet’s Instagram page on Monday after a video of Ati appealing for assistance gained widespread attention and was discussed on national television.

In the emotional video, Ati revealed that she has been raising her son alone and is struggling financially. She disclosed that the child is currently ill and that she has exhausted her resources on medical treatment. She appealed to Chiefpriest to take responsibility if the boy is confirmed to be his son.

Responding to social media users who urged him to take a DNA test, Chiefpriest stated that he was willing to do so publicly.
He wrote, “Help me bring her and the child to your studio. I will come there and do the DNA test live on television for free.”

One Instagram user advised him to settle the matter, arguing that the controversy was damaging his reputation and affecting his family. In response, Chiefpriest maintained that he would not spend money on individuals making allegations against him online and insisted that the claimant should bring the child forward.

He further argued that if someone believes he is the father of a child, the responsibility lies with them to present the child rather than using social media campaigns to press their claims.

The paternity dispute has been ongoing since 2023. Ati has repeatedly alleged that her son was conceived after a brief encounter with Chiefpriest in Lagos in 2022. She has consistently demanded a DNA test and claimed that she has borne the burden of raising the child alone.

Chiefpriest, however, has continually denied the allegations, insisting that he does not know Ati and that the claims are intended to tarnish his marriage and public image.
The controversy resurfaced in January 2025 during Chiefpriest’s public online clash with singer Burna Boy. During the dispute, Burna Boy openly supported Ati’s demand for a DNA test and reportedly offered to assist her in travelling to Nigeria, although the arrangement was never completed.

Ati has also alleged that shortly after the child’s birth in January 2023, Chiefpriest sent her N300,000 in instalments for baby supplies following childbirth complications, despite allegedly denying paternity.

Over the past year, she has continued to call for a DNA test through social media while seeking financial support for the child’s welfare.

Although Chiefpriest has consistently rejected the paternity claims, he now says he is prepared to undergo a DNA test in public, provided Ati brings the child to the agreed venue.
