Defamation:Peter Obi visits Afe Babalola over Farotimi’s case

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, today visited the renowned legal icon and founder of Afe Babalola University, Afe Babalola in his office in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state capital in Monday, December 8.

The visit was in connection with the ongoing court case on alleged defamation against human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi.

Farotimi was last week arraigned before a Magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti over the petition filed against him by Afebabalola over alleged defamation in his book titled, ‘Nigeria and Its Criminal Judicial System’

A High Court in the state on Monday granted Farotimi bail in the sum of N50 million. The defamation case against him however continues today December 9 at a magistrate court in the state.
