Renowned music producer and Mavin Records chief, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has dismissed claims made by his former associate, Abisagboola Oluseun John, also known as Bankulli, regarding an alleged incident in the United Kingdom.
Bankulli, speaking at a recent event, recounted a story in which Don Jazzy supposedly fled the scene of a car crash while living in London. According to him, the producer fell asleep behind the wheel after a show, crashed the vehicle, removed the number plate and abandoned the car to avoid the high cost of towing.
“I refused to include a particular story about Don Jazzy in the Afrobeats documentary. Back then, he was trying to survive in London. He had an accident; the car was destroyed, and he abandoned it,” Bankulli said.“He fell asleep while driving, crashed the car and removed the plate number before running away because the towing fee was more expensive than fixing it. But look at him now—he has a fleet of cars.”
Reacting via his X (formerly Twitter) account, Don Jazzy refuted the narrative and offered clarification on the incident, distancing himself from the claims made by his former collaborator.
