Film makers have stopped giving us movie roles because we support Tinubu/APC – Actor Saidi Balogun

Nollywood Actor, Saidi Balogun says movie producers have stopped offering movie roles to those like him that declared support for President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made the disclosure in an interview with The Punch, adding that the filmmakers belong to the opposition which is why they’ve refused to call him to star in their films ever since he became an APC member.

According to the Yoruba movie star, the faces heavy backlash and he prays that what people are criticising him for favours him in the end.

Saidi, who is also the assistant spokesperson of the Performing and Creative Art Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said he supported Tinubu in the run-up to the 2023 election because he saw him as someone that could move Nigeria forward.

He said; “We get a lot of backlash. As a matter of fact, some producers no longer call us for work, because they belong to the opposition. But, before I came into the ‘war’, I was prepared.

“I only pray that what they are blasting me for would be fruitful to me and the people too. We did it for a purpose. I saw that this person (Tinubu) could help move the country forward.”

The man known as Jack said the person wanted to start a cab business, so he was looking for someone to stand as a guarantor for him while he obtains the vehicle.

He initially agreed to use his company as a guarantee, but later changed his mind after finding out the guy supports the All Progressives Congress and voted for President Bola Tinubu.

Jack, who shared this on Twitter, revealed that he saw the applicant wearing a signature Asiwaju cap and that did not sit well with him.

He tweeted; “So one guy knew when I had a bet shop a few years ago came to me to ask that I help him secure a vehicle (he want to use for bolt) and I accepted to guarantee him using my company. This evening I saw the guy with Asiwaju cap😂 Apparently he voted for the…and wants me.. …Jack to guarantee him? 😂😂
