Funke Akindele has officially confirmed reports that she is the running mate of the Lagos State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Olajide Adediran.
In a recent video shared via her official Instagram page on Tuesday, July 12, the mother of twins announced her bold step of venturing into politics while putting her entertainment career on hold.

The movie star pledged to work alongside the Governor to see that the interest of youths and women are ably represented peradventure they assume the office come 2023.
She said,
“I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women, and the girl child.
“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”
However, at the end video, while reintroducing herself, Funke Akindele omitted ‘Bello from her name
