Headie Award: Will this industry ever change? – Cynthia Morgan berates singer Guchi’s nomination for Rookie Of The Year

Rapper, Cynthia Morgan has expressed her dissatisfaction over Guchi’s nomination in the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category for the 16th Headies Award.

The ‘Benzema’ singer is nominated alongside Odumodublvck, Bayanni, Khaid, Bloody Civilian, and Elter Skillz in that category.

According to the organisers, the category is “A voting category for the rookie of the year who has had a successful year musically, with the absence of an album in the year under review.”

Reacting to Guchi’s nomination, Cynthia Morgan expressed her shock following Guchi’s nomination in the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category. She believes that Guchi should be in the Next Rated category.

She wrote: “Will this industry ever change? Guchi a rookie? Wow.” In my books, she was due for next rated as of two years ago, or at least last year,”
