Hon. Alabi, Ibadan pride in NASS- Balogun

……as lawmaker gifts Olubadan power generating set.

The lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja, Hon. Akin Alabi has been described as an Ibadan pride in the green chamber by the immediate past Senator of Oyo South Senatorial District, Dr. Sen. Kola Balogun.

Dr. Balogun, the Baba-Kekere Olubadan spoke on behalf of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, CFR, Alli Okunmade II at the presentation of a 20KVA Mikano power generating set to the palace by the lawmaker, who is also the Mogaji Ajiogbo family of Labiran area in Ibadan hinterland on Saturday.

In a press statement made available to journalists in Ibadan by the Personal Assistant on Media to the Olubadan, Oladele Ogunsola, Sen. Balogun recalled that the potential of the lawmaker as a star became manifest right at the orientation programme organized for the newly elected members of the National Assembly (NASS) in 2019 when he too was elected a Senator.

According to him, “Hon. Alabi right away at the orientation programme organized for all the lawmakers in 2019, Senators and House of Representatives members, he showed the stuff he was made and proved himself one of our stars. To those of us, who knew him before, we were not surprised. Since then, he has remained a very good ambassador of the state.

“I’m sure the members of his constituency can attest to the fact that he’s a performing lawmaker. Ibadan too can say so and I’m saying it that he is a pride. He has been a very good son to His Imperial Majesty ever before becoming what he’s today and personally, I’m not surprised. We can only pray for him to continue to soar like an eagle”, Sen. Balogun added.

Asking him to remain himself and committed to the good works he has been doing, the Baba-Kekere Olubadan insisted that “any lawmaker, who is from Ibadan that fails in giving good representation in the National Assembly does not only fail his or her constituents, the person also fails Olubadan, who was there before all of us as a Senator”.

In his brief remark, the lawmaker disclosed that the presentation was a fulfilment of the promise made about two weeks ago during his Christmas visit to the Olubadan, noting that he’s not always at ease whenever he makes a promise until such is fulfilled, expressing gladness that the promise he made about two weeks ago has been kept.

The Chairman, House Committee on Works corroborated the submission by Sen. Balogun that he’s a son to the Olubadan, recalling that the present Olubadan was the one God used for him to become Mogaji in 2016. “Truly, I’m a member of the house and I promise to remain so. Kabiyesi is my father and it is my prayer that he lives long to see us making more exploits in all fronts”.
