Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Tuesday sacked all political appointees in the state, and dissolved the state executive council.
The governor also terminated the appointments of political office holders urging them to handover government properties in their custody.
The dissolution takes immediate effect.
The dissolution however exempted all
political officeholders in statutory commissions.
Makinde gave the directive in a letter dated 23rd of May, 2023 and signed his Chief of Staff who also doubles as the Chairman, Transition & Inauguration Committee, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
The statement reads: “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Oyo State Executive Council and the termination of the appointment of all political officeholders with effect from today. Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
