The protesters, who included friends, parents, and loved ones of stranded and fleeing Nigerians in Ukraine, came out in numbers and pleaded with the Russian government to let peace reign.

The protesters carried placards and were heard chanting songs saying “Putin, let there be peace. We are parents of Nigerians trapped in Ukraine. ”

They also wore T-shirts that had the inscription, “Stop the war.”

They lamented the horrific reports they’ve been receiving about their loved ones being prevented from fleeing Ukraine to other countries such as Hungary, Poland, and others.
