Award-winning Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham, has turned to God for strength and direction as she prepares for the release of her latest project.
Taking to Instagram, the movie star expressed her reliance on divine guidance, writing:
“God, I need Your strength now more than ever, Your guidance even more, and Your leading through it all. Oversabi Aunty is coming to all cinemas from December 19th. Let’s go!”
The emotional post comes as Abraham continues to make significant strides in her career. Just months ago, her film Alakada Bad and Boujee was ranked the fifth highest-grossing Nollywood release of all time.
Earlier in March, the actress was honored with the Trailblazer Award at the 2024 Silverbird Man of the Year ceremony, recognized for being “fearless, dynamic, and redefining Nollywood.” In her acceptance note, she described the award as a reminder that perseverance and passion never go unnoticed, acknowledging that her journey has been filled with challenges that shaped her success.
Abraham, who often emphasizes that her films are more than just entertainment, recently described herself as “a prophet” after receiving feedback from a therapist who said her movies had therapeutic effects.
Despite criticisms in the past, the filmmaker has remained resilient. Celebrating her past cinema milestones, she noted that her ultimate competition has always been herself, expressing gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.
With Oversabi Aunty set for a December release, Abraham is once again leaning on faith as she looks forward to another landmark achievement in Nollywood.
