I will never support a rapist or pedophile” – Biola Bayo tenders heartfelt apology to Nigerians and Iyabo Ojo over interview with Baba Ijesha

Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has tendered a heartfelt apology to Nigerians over her interview with disgraced actor Baba Ijesha.

It was reported a day back that Baba Ijesha, in an interview with Biola, had addressed his rape allegations, maintaining that he isn’t a pedophile nor a rapist. He said Princess knows she has betrayed everyone she has ever been friends with, and expressed how hurt he was by how Iyabo Ojo turned on him. He noted that he had taken care of her kids when they were younger, yet she doubted him.

The interview didn’t sit well with many, who dragged him and Biola Bayo through the mud.


Following the backlash, Biola took down the video from her YouTube page and has hidden it on her Instagram reel.

Taking to her Instagram page, she shared a video of her explaining the situation. According to her, shortly after his release from prison, he informed her that he was back. She had asked if he would like to grant an interview to apologise or clear the air so he could move on with his life, but he declined at the time, saying he wasn’t ready.


The beloved actress said he contacted her again, saying he was now ready for an interview and chose to appear on her platform first before others.


Biola said she approached the integrity strictly as a journalist, believing he would use the opportunity to apologise to the public, but he didn’t. She emphasised that it wasn’t her place to condemn him during the interview, noting that her platform is open to everyone, regardless of public opinion.


The talented actress, while apologising to Iyabo Ojo, made it clear that she doesn’t and will never support a rapist.

On Friday, November 15th, that the famous actor was released from prison, after spending over three years in custody over alleged sexual assault.
Announcing his release, actor Yomi Fabiyi shared on Instagram that he had been cleared by the Appeal Court. He stated that Ijesha wasn’t just back, but was better, and expressed his happiness that he had been cleared.


In his first public post, Ijesha expressed gratitude to an unknown person, likely Yomi Fabiyi, for his support. He made the person aware that he had just arrived, was about to leave the vicinity, and was looking for a place to relax. Praying for the person, he declared that he wouldn’t be disgraced.
Refreshing your memory, in 2021, Princess, accused Ijesha of defiling her 14-year-old ward. In a video that was made available online, the actress accused Baba Ijesha of molesting her daughter without consent.


Nollywood stars Iyabo Ojo and Yomi Fabiyi fought over the issue, with the former supporting Princess’s side of the story. At the same time, the latter took a stand in support of his colleague.


In 2022, Baba Ijesha had bagged 5 years imprisonment for raping comedienne, Princess’s 14 years old daughter.
